Soft tissue, sport and remedial massage therapy is a versatile treatment that can help clients of any age, from any walks of life, who present with a range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Every treatment will begin with a consultation, to assess your health and ensure we tailor the session to meet your needs. We use general massage methods combined with soft tissue techniques adapted from physiotherapists and osteopaths. These techniques can effectively treat everyday, occupational, postural and sporting injuries and issues, as well as some medical conditions.

Having listened to you and assessed the condition, the therapist will select the best techniques to effectively, efficiently, and considerately improve your health.

These may include:

  • Remedial massage techniques

  • Neuromuscular Therapy

  • Soft Tissue Release

  • Muscle Energy Techniques

  • Myofascial and Connective Tissue techniques

Symptoms which respond well to this massage therapy include back, neck, shoulder & hip pain, piriformis (buttock) pain, rotator cuff issues, whiplash, compartment syndrome such as carpal tunnel syndrome, DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), hypertension, oedema. Massage is also extremely beneficial in treating emotional stress, anxiety and depression.

The treatment can also support sport and exercise plans to improve performance, recovery and reduce the risk of injury.

Rehabilitation is key and our aim is to help you make long term improvements to soft tissue health. We will guide you to make further progress post-treatment, with a variety of remedial functional exercises and stretches and possible small, easy lifestyle changes.

Soft tissue massage therapy offers a myriad of benefits that contribute to both physical and mental well-being. By targeting the body's soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments, this therapeutic approach helps alleviate muscle tension, reduce pain, and enhance flexibility.

Soft tissue massage promotes improved blood circulation, facilitating the delivery of essential nutrients and oxygen to cells while aiding in the removal of metabolic waste products. This not only accelerates the healing process for injuries but also contributes to overall tissue health. Moreover, the release of endorphins during a soft tissue massage induces a sense of relaxation and stress relief, making it an effective tool for managing anxiety and promoting mental clarity.

Whether you're seeking relief from chronic pain or simply aiming to unwind, soft tissue massage therapy offers a holistic approach to enhance your physical and mental vitality.

Soft tissue therapy can complement other therapies such as osteopathy and physiotherapy. Whilst these are not offered at the clinic, our therapists will always discuss your progress and other treatment options or suggestions to ensure your health improves.

The treatment style is similar to deep tissue massages but the combination of advanced techniques ensures a more-targeted, more efficient, more effective complete treatment. Whether you’re considering a massage to improve post-exercise healing or would like to relieve the stresses and strains of modern life, we are here to help.
